After a hiatus of almost 3 years

It's about time to rejuvenate this blog. This is the week that Shu will be moving to London for the next 2 years.... and that's the best way of ensuring that we keep in close touch.

Of course, most updates would likely be on Facebook and/or Watsapp, real-time and succinct, but still I think nothing beats good old fashion writing and more importantly the limited sharing with only the closest of friends.

How's married life so far ?

When my hubby is away on business trips 1 week each month, married life is like single life marrying married life.

Weighty Issues in Life

*Conversation with Football Fan Friend on Msn. It started with me wanting to do some planning for my upcoming barbeque*
Me: What is the weight of one prawn?
Football Fan Friend: 25 grams…. Can go up to 100 grams for the big ones
Me: Wah so heavy?!
Me: Hmm.... What is the weight of lethargy?
Football Fan Friend: 70 kg. That’s my weight. I need to drag that amount to work almost everyday

Me: Hahaha…Lighter for me then
Me: What is the weight of my judgement?
Football Fan Friend: 500kg
Football Fan Friend: Because your judgement carries a lot of weight
*Hahaha....But of course!*
Football Fan Friend: What is the weight of Detailed Superior’s Review Points?
Me: Cannot be quantified. It is crushing
Football Fan Friend: Let it be 17 tonnes then, it can kill
Me: What is the weight of guilt?
Football Fan Friend: Depends on what you did. I am guilt-free so it is light as a feather for me!

Changing Partners

We were waltzing together to a dreamy melody
When they called out change partners and you waltzed away from me
The music shifted, the lights dimmed and I danced to a different tune
A different partner, a different feeling, a different set of steps to do

Though we danced for one moment and too soon we had to part
In that wonderful moment something happened to my heart
Now that moment is over, the hands of different people we hold
The same routine, the same allure, the same experience, lo and behold!

~ Adapted from "Changing Partners", a popular song by Patti Page recorded on September 21, 1953.
An age-old tune with a new perspective.

Driving in a storm

When you are driving in a storm, you focus on your steering wheel to ensure that you can continue sailing without harm. It's certainly not the time to meddle with your radio, air con etc. While the direction has not changed, one needs really needs to focus on what matters most.

So likewise when tough things happen, the way to solve it would be to stay stay focused on the path, towards the direction you are going and you can ride out the storm.

It is also exactly through such a storm when you truly learn and emerge tougher.

Definition of Old School people

People who still like jazz and believe in true love.
People who takes pride in their work,
who works to leave a legacy and
who ain't afraid of hard times.

These are people of the past I think. Hard to find and hard to keep.
